My passion for making quilts is an extension of my love of sewing. I began as a child with doll clothes and then moved on to making my own garments and often worked on sewing projects for neighbors. After taking my first sampler quilt class in Berkeley, CA in 1979, I knew I had found a lifelong interest. In 1980, I visited a new quilt shop in my area where I connected with the co-owner of the shop, Diana McClun. Thus began a friendship which led to the creation of five landmark books on quiltmaking, and which continues to this day. I am best known for my first book, Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!!, which is often referred to as "the bible" of quiltmaking. I teach and lecture both locally and internationally. Thanks for visiting my site and I hope you will return often. |
